Stitch Fix Style is perfect for mamas! I enjoy shopping, but I do NOT enjoy dragging two young children to the mall. I don’t even have much time to shop online when there are two little people who probably need me and I prefer to be spending quality time with them. Also I left my career to have more time with my littles, so I also don’t have copious amounts of extra income. When I do shop online I don’t want to be paying for shipping and then return shipping for what doesn’t work out, not to mention I don’t have time/energy to drag two littles to the post office. I do
In the past, clothes served a practical purpose for me and I didn’t consider them an opportunity for a creative outlet. I assumed that I had to choose style or comfort and that was an easy choice for me – COMFORT, for sure. At some point I discovered that it’s possible to have BOTH! I’ve also come to enjoy the boost one gets from putting together a particularly interesting or stunning outfit. I’ve found a way to develop a wardrobe that accommodates my need for comfort and active mama lifestyle. Best of all, I no longer have to shop for these perfect new outfits.
How is this possible, you may be wondering? Stitch Fix fashion. Stitch Fix is a FUN way to imbue your wardrobe with unique and gorgeous clothing. The whole process is a total BLAST; I highly recommend trying it at least once 🙂 The neat thing about it is that it exposes you to patterns, styles, and textures of clothing that you may have never chosen for yourself. It’s a great opportunity to try new things! Even if you know exactly what you want, you can give your stylist a lot of direction and go that route, too. You can literally request specific outfits that you have seen on the Stitch Fix Pinterest
After about 10 Fixes, I’ve found the perfect stylist and I will request her for all of my future Fixes! She put a ton of thought into the pieces she selected and I think she must be a mama, too, because she really gets it! I was able to nurse in the shirts and they didn’t require any fancy bras, yet were still unique. She selected pieces that were comfortable, flattering and made of extremely soft materials.
Stitch Fix Style is SO easy and FUN! Here’s the process in a nutshell:
- Fill out your Style Profile
- Select your shipment date (with FREE shipping)
- Receive & Try-on 5 pieces
- Keep what you like and return what you don’t in a prepaid envelope (FREE return shipping!)
- Get a 25% discount if you choose to keep all 5 pieces (FREE return shipping!)
- Get a 25% discount if you choose to keep all 5 pieces
Step 1: Fill out your Style Profile (10 minutes)
First, Stitch Fix gets to know you. You fill out a style profile about your style preferences if you have them, what your body shape and size is, if you have parts that you like to show off or minimize, what type of activities you would like outfits for, etc. You can even give a price range for your stylist to follow to ensure you aren’t tempted to break the bank!
Step 2: Select your shipment date (with FREE shipping)
Select the date that you would like to receive your Fix, keeping in mind that you’ll have 3 days to try on clothing and return the items that you do not want to keep. At this time you can also write a note to your stylist about what you would like to have in your Fix. Have you been searching for an oversized sweater to go with your with your (many) pairs of yoga pants? Are there events coming up that you need a specific type of outfit for? For my most recent Fix, I wanted a cute outfit to wear for a Valentines Day date with Hubbs. Your personal stylist will select 5 items and send them to you by the date you indicated. When your box of goodies arrives it’s neatly packaged in tissue wrap with a sweet personal note from your stylist. She also provides outfit-pairing ideas for each item she sent you.
Step 3: Receive & Try-On 5 pieces
This may seem obvious, but try on the pieces! My favorite part is the Stitch Fix
Step 4: Keep what you like and return what you don’t in a prepaid envelope (FREE return shipping!)
You simply keep what you like and return what you don’t want. You then go to the Stitch Fix website or use their handy app to check out. Mark the items that you want to keep and give feedback on them, and mark the items that you didn’t care for and why. Your stylist uses this feedback for future Fixes. Stitch Fix is SO EASY that they even include a bag that’s pre-addressed with free postage, for returning the items you didn’t love. Free shipping and no trip to the post office and waiting in a long line with littles required – a mama’s dream come true!
Step 5: Get a 25% discount on Stitch Fix fashion if you choose to keep all 5 pieces
If you happen to love everything in your Fix and want to keep it all- you get an additional 25% off your entire order! Actually, even if you like 4 of the 5 items, it’s often still cheaper to keep all 5 items and get the 25% off. The extra item that you don’t like for you could always sell to someone else or maybe it would make the perfect gift for a friend 😉 There is a $20 stylist fee that is non-refundable, but that $20 fee is a credit to the item or items you choose to keep! I recently discovered the annual Stitch Fix fashion style pass for just $50, which makes this even more affordable. There’s no commitment to future Fixes, so if it’s not fun for you, you simply don’t schedule another one. In addition, shipping is FREE BOTH WAYS! (That $20 styling fee is probably still less than if you ordered from a store and paid for shipping to receive and return.) This is a great post with additional information about how to get the best Fix https://crazytogether.com/get-best-clothes-stitch-fix/
Here is my most recent Stitch Fix Example:

Wow, this is PERFECT! I switched to studs after having a baby, so that she couldn’t yank on them and I just bought 3 sets of casual silver studs so this set is exactly what I didn’t know I needed! *NOTE: A gem fell out of the “everyday” pair of earrings and after a superglue catastrophy (I’m beyond not crafty, I can’t manage the basics of glue) Stitch Fix assured me that was not up to their quality standards and sent me a whole new box immediately.

I love this sweater, the neck detail is gorgeous and the fabric is super soft! It would be perfect with yoga pants or slacks, EXCEPT it’s the tiniest bit too short, so it doesn’t quite work 🙁

This was slightly boxy and a little tight in the shoulders for me, but I loved the scalloped detail. Sometimes this material isn’t very forgiving with sweat, which is also an important consideration 😛

I loved the soft material, but the cut wasn’t very flattering. My husband won’t let me buy any more polka dots because he says I have too much haha

Gorgeous! Pretty pattern, love the slightly heavier material that makes it hang beautifully & is super soft, the small details like the buttons make it dressy, & it’s comfortable! Easy with black heels for a much-needed date night!
The primary purpose of this Fix was to find a belt, which unfortunately they don’t carry at this time, but I also wanted to look cute for our date night and I couldn’t be happier with the dress and earrings!

I happen to live in a town with very limited shopping and shipping here is more expensive than most places, so Stitch Fix fashion is pure gold! I don’t need to be wearing high fashion, but I also don’t want to be wearing the same thing that everyone else also bought at Fred Meyer and Old Navy. I have tried Stitch Fix quite a few times and always enjoyed it, but this was the best one yet! I can wear all of these items in the future when I’m no longer nursing and they’ll be just as comfortable and cute.

There’s one last thing to sweeten the deal. If you try a Stitch Fix and love it, of
Happy Fixing! I hope you love it! I’d love to hear back about how your experience was 🙂
